SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN The top meeting point for the industry

SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN: The top meeting point for professionals from the industry

The wait is over: more than 800 exhibitors from 40 countries, who will be showcasing their innovative products and services are at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN. Market leaders such as Lincoln, ESAB, MicroStep, ABICOR BINZEL, EWM, Fronius, Messer Cutting and voestalpine will be out in force, as will numerous hidden champions, start-ups, research institutions and associations.

Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen: “Indeed, the world-leading fair is continuing to cover the entire international value chain. The interest from exhibitors and visitors is tremendous. Along with our partner, the German Welding Society (DVS), we are absolutely delighted to be able to offer the sector a high-quality, customised platform, developed with innovations, lead generation, investment decisions and the exchange of professional knowledge in mind.”

An optimised hall layout makes participating in the trade fair simple and effective. Halls 1 through 5 focus on welding, Halls 6 through 8 are home to the cutting exhibitors. “This strategic layout ensures easy navigation for and trade visitors are able to find products such as surface technology, heat treatment, gases, consumables, filler materials, equipment, health, safety, quality assurance, services and digitalisation just a stone’s throw away”, explains Christina Kleinpaß, Head of Project at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN.

Interactive digitalisation rally offers innovations with added value

This year digital innovations are an important topic among exhibitors. For the first time, trade visitors will have the opportunity at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN to find out about digital best practices in terms of industrial interaction between machines, humans, AI and software through an interactive rallye involving participating companies. In cooperation with the IndustryFusion Foundation (IFF) and DVS, this offer is developed to guide participants to a wide range of companies across the entire trade fair grounds. Trade visitors are able to talk to companies on a one-on-one basis and find out more about their products and services guided by the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN App. DVS Managing Director Dr. Eng. Roland Boecking explains: “Digitalisation in welding technology enables the functional merging of manufacturing processes and information technologies as well as innovative digital training for welders. Indeed, the rallye is an excellent opportunity to discover an entirely new level of workflows in operational and business processes.”

Specialised areas merge expertise

All the information you need in an easy to store and easily accessible format - SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN offers valuable input to businesses with its wide range of topics and events. Here are just some of the highlights:

Regardless of whether energy production or raw material extraction is your area of interest: Underwater technology is becoming more and more important. Companies and institutions are able to showcase their new approaches and cutting-edge products at the joint booth in Exhibition Hall 7 (Stand 7G13). Demonstrations in a diving container provide fascinating insights into such work, which poses challenges to both humans and technology.

The entire underwater technology topic is rounded out by a 2-day conference with the same title organised by DVS. On September 12 and 13 , experts will present the latest research and technological findings – such as the non-destructive hardness testing in the heat-affected zone of underwater welded components. Yet another topic block is practical demonstrations by professionals from the underwater technology sector such as fatigue and fracture behaviour of butt and fillet welds welded underwater.

At international joint stands, companies from the same country join forces to present topics. This year SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN welcomes exhibitors from China (Halls 4, 6, 7), France (Hall 5), Japan (Hall 8), Korea (Hall 4), Taiwan (Hall 8) and the USA (Hall 1), who will provide trade visitors with a unique insight into their new products.

A wide range of the sector’s new developments have actually been produced by recently founded companies. Within the scope of the “Young innovative companies” programme, supported by the The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, German start-ups are presenting their pioneering developments in Exhibition Hall 3 (Stand 3A47).
