Sustainable raw material
Copper is of great importance to our society. It supplies electricity and water to homes, provides technological innovations and supports sustainable development in an exemplary way by reducing CO2 and as an important element of the circular economy.
The current factsheet on recycling is now available. It addresses particularly the role of pre- and post-consumer scrap. Copper can be recycled without any loss of quality, leading to significant energy savings and a reduction in CO₂ emissions – an advantage for the environment and for securing the long-term availability. In many cases, a physical separation of the two types of scrap is unnecessary, as both can be processed for the production cycle. A detailed description and further information can be found in the factsheet.
