Blechexpop/Schweisstec concludes with positive result
The 16th Blechexpo, international trade fair for sheet metal processing, together with the 9th Schweisstec, international trade fair for joining technology, was a success. 1,256 exhibitors from 38 countries in nine fully booked halls and a high-calibre, packed complementary programme was enjoyed by 40,103 trade visitors.
Exhibitors, visitors and organisers of this year's Blechexpo/Schweisstec were overall satisfied. The trade fair, which showcases complete process chains for modern and future-proof sheet metal processing, took place in Stuttgart from November 7 through 10, 2023 and once again proved to be an industry highlight, bringing together the best of the best in the sheet metal processing industry. "Once again, this was the kind of trade fair you wish for," summarises Georg Knauer, Project Manager of Blechexpo/Schweisstec. "Nine full halls with 1,256 exhibitors from 38 countries – it was an inspiring event for everyone involved. We saw many new machines and solutions that point the way to the future of modern, sustainable sheet metal processing. And the fact that 45 percent of the exhibitors came from abroad once again demonstrates the high global significance of Blechexpo/Schweisstec."
Trend topics guiding companys moving forward
The majority of foreign exhibitors came to Stuttgart from Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, China and the Benelux countries. Both trade visitors and media representatives from these countries showed a high level of interest. The themes of Blechexpo/Schweisstec and solutions for current challenges are communicated worldwide and have a global impact. "It was obvious that many companies are focusing on the same tasks because this is the only way to ensure future viability and competitiveness," Georg Knauer points out. "These include more automation, especially in the periphery, higher productivity, even higher quality of parts, avoiding waste, saving energy, compensating for the shortage of skilled workers, employee protection and customer service are issues that affect all companies," says Knauer, summarising the trending topics. "The solutions and steps we saw at the trade fair are putting the industry on the path to greater sustainability. The sheet metal industry is also going green in the long term, and visitors to the trade fair were able to see for themselves that the first steps towards this goal have been taken."
